Korea’s One and Only Iron Ore Producers
Handuk Iron Industry is an iron ore producing company which has excellent expertise based on 40 years of experience in iron mining since 1983. As the only remaining iron ore mine in Korea, Handuk supplies most of the iron ore produced to steel manufacturing company, POSCO.
Constructing Second Shaft
Handuk employs dry beneficiation in processing the mined ore by using the latest, modern, mechanized equipment (shaft of 627m). Handuk also participates in national research projects by sharing underground spaces and facilities with Korea’s Basic Science Institute (IBS), enabling researchers to study cosmogenic particles.
